Anthony Gordon Reveals the Advice He Received From Marcus Rashford
Anthony Gordon and Marcus Rashford are currently teammates at FC Barcelona and are presently with the England national team as they prepare to compete in the FIFA World Cup. Both players primarily operate on the left wing, a situation that could make them direct competitors for playing time at both club and international level. However, that has not stopped Rashford from helping Gordon as he prepares to begin this new chapter in Catalonia.
Rashford's Support During Gordon's Move to Barcelona
In an interview with TalkSport, Gordon spoke about the conversations he has had with the England forward and highlighted his willingness to help him settle into his new surroundings.
"He told me about how close the group is and the great atmosphere in the dressing room. He also gave me advice about the city and possible places to live. He's a very kind and thoughtful guy," Gordon said.
The winger's comments reflect the strong relationship between the two players. Rashford is coming off an outstanding season with Barcelona, a level of performance that helped him re-establish himself in the England national team. Despite competing for similar positions on the pitch, the forward did not hesitate to share his experience with the club's newest addition.

Competition in England and at FC Barcelona
Gordon also addressed the internal competition that exists both within England and at Barcelona.
"If you look at the team, you could put anyone in the lineup. Everyone is good enough, and we all have reasons to believe we're among the best in many aspects," he said.
He has a point. Left wing is one of the most talent-rich positions in the Three Lions squad. Both Rashford and Gordon bring pace, creativity, dribbling ability, and the skill to create danger in one-on-one situations. The competition is fierce and pushes every player to maintain a high level of performance.
A similar scenario could unfold at Barcelona. At the moment, Raphinha remains the undisputed starter on one of the wings for the Catalan giants, but the arrival of additional attacking talent gives the coaching staff more options and raises the overall level of competition within the squad.
Meanwhile, Rashford's future remains uncertain. His loan spell with Barcelona has come to an end, and at Manchester United, it is already known that he is not part of the club's long-term sporting project. Officials at Old Trafford are seeking a permanent transfer, while Barcelona's hierarchy continues to evaluate whether the club can make the financial commitment required to retain a player who has publicly expressed his desire to stay.
For now, Rashford continues to play a dual role: helping Gordon adapt to life at Barcelona while also competing with him for a place in England's starting lineup.
