Another Problem! Neymar Will Not Travel With the Brazil National Team to Cleveland for Their Final Friendly
Brazil's number '10' is still recovering and will not play in the friendly against Egypt; his presence in the World Cup debut against Morocco is in doubt.
Another injury for Neymar
Brazil adds a new chapter of uncertainty in its preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Neymar, injured in his right calf, will not accompany the national team to Cleveland for the final friendly match against Egypt. The Santos star will remain in New Jersey, where he will intensify his physiotherapy treatment under medical supervision.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) issued a statement confirming that the player will continue with a physical recovery program in the United States. The problem began on May 17, when Neymar arrived at the training camp already injured after a match in the Brasileirão. Santos had diagnosed an edema, but subsequent tests conducted by the CBF revealed a grade II muscle injury, with an estimated recovery time of two to three weeks.
Absent during the friendly matches
The number '10' already missed the friendly against Panama, which ended in a 6-2 rout, and he will also miss the match against Egypt. His absence raises doubts about whether he will be available for Brazil's World Cup debut on June 13 against Morocco in New Jersey. Since the beginning of the training camp, Neymar has mainly trained in the gym and only did light work on the field, reflecting the caution with which his recovery is being handled.

Ancelotti says Neymar will be in the team
Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil's coach, was blunt and assured that Neymar will be at the World Cup, ruling out any replacement in the list of 26 called up. The decision reaffirms the coach's confidence that the forward will arrive on time, although uncertainty persists.
Brazil will play all the group stage matches on U.S. soil, Morocco (June 13 in New Jersey), Haiti (June 19 in Philadelphia), and Scotland (June 24 in Miami). The expectation is enormous and the big question remains open, will Neymar be able to overcome this new obstacle and lead the "Canarinha" on their path to glory?
