Ancelotti Confirms When Neymar Will Return to Training With Brazil
The Brazil national team received encouraging news ahead of the FIFA World Cup. After several days of uncertainty, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that he expects Neymar to rejoin training sessions next week.
The Brazilian forward suffered an injury just before joining the national team's training camp, raising concerns and sparking speculation about a potential absence from the World Cup. However, the Italian manager remains optimistic about the recovery of his star player.
Neymar Nearing His Return
Ancelotti explained that Neymar will undergo a series of physical tests next Monday to determine whether he is fit enough to rejoin the squad during the following week. In the meantime, Brazil continues preparing for its World Cup opener against Morocco, one of the toughest opponents in its group.
The coaching staff's priority is to avoid any risk of a setback. For that reason, Neymar will not take part in the final warm-up friendly against Egypt, and the team will not rush his return for the tournament's opening match. The plan is clear: if he is fit to play, he will do so, but only after making a full recovery. Brazil would rather be without him for a few more days than jeopardize his availability for the decisive stages of the competition.
Neymar's Importance to Brazil's System
The attacker has been regaining his best form with Santos, the club where he has once again found consistency and prominence. That performance played a key role in earning back the trust of the national team. The injury currently sidelining him is a calf muscle issue, a condition that typically requires between two and three weeks of recovery, although every case can progress differently.
Beyond the statistics, Neymar remains a crucial piece of Brazil's attacking structure because of everything he brings to the game. In this new phase of his career, he has adopted a deeper role on the pitch, contributing more to chance creation than finishing opportunities. In his first 15 matches with Santos, he has recorded four assists and created numerous dangerous scoring chances for his teammates.
His ability to orchestrate the attack directly benefits players such as Raphinha and Vinícius Júnior, who find more space and receive the ball in more favorable positions. In addition, his leadership in the locker room continues to be an important factor. Ancelotti believes that Neymar's experience and influence within the squad could prove decisive as Brazil pursues its long-awaited sixth World Cup title.
