Casemiro Is Tired of Always Talking About Neymar
The injury situation surrounding Neymar continues to dominate headlines ahead of the 2026 World Cup, but Casemiro made it clear that the Brazil squad is tired of constantly talking only about the superstar forward and wants the focus to remain on his recovery first.
Brazil’s preparation camp for the 2026 World Cup continues to revolve around questions regarding the physical condition of Neymar, but this time it was Casemiro who addressed the situation and attempted to calm the growing concern surrounding the Santos star.
Speaking from Teresópolis, where Brazil are training ahead of the tournament, the veteran midfielder stressed that Neymar’s priority must be recovering fully before thinking about becoming the team’s main protagonist once again.
“No player likes being injured,” said the former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder, who also highlighted Neymar’s importance inside the dressing room because of his experience after already playing in three World Cups.
However, Casemiro also admitted some frustration over the constant media attention focused exclusively on Neymar, explaining that nearly every press conference eventually turns into a conversation about the Brazilian superstar.
Brazil Trying to Handle Neymar Situation Carefully
Casemiro’s comments came shortly after Brazil national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar confirmed that Neymar suffered a Grade II calf injury, an issue expected to sideline him for between two and three weeks.
The injury has raised concerns across Brazil because the forward could miss the warm-up friendlies against Panama and Egypt, while also becoming a serious doubt for Brazil’s World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13.
Even so, there remains optimism within the coaching staff led by Carlo Ancelotti, who still believe the attacker can recover in time to play a major role during the tournament.
Casemiro Highlights Neymar’s Leadership
Beyond the physical concerns, Casemiro emphasized Neymar’s influence inside the squad because of his international experience and leadership qualities.
The midfielder explained that the forward brings valuable energy and confidence to the group thanks to everything he has experienced throughout his career at the highest level of world football.
For Casemiro, Neymar’s comeback must happen step by step, without unnecessary pressure, while placing his health above everything else before focusing on performances on the pitch.
