Bayern Munich has been dealt a devastating blow at the Club World Cup: Jamal Musiala, one of their brightest stars, suffered a severe injury during the quarterfinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain, triggering concern throughout the Bavarian camp.

The incident occurred in stoppage time of the first half, when the German midfielder collided with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma while contesting a 50-50 ball. The impact was intense, and Musiala was left writhing on the pitch in visible pain after twisting his left ankle unnaturally. Medical staff rushed in immediately, and the images were harrowing.

Kompany Reacts: “Musiala Is a Core Part of Our Team”

After the match, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany expressed his frustration and concern in no uncertain terms. The manager did not hide his emotions when addressing the media:

"Rarely have I been this angry at halftime. Not at my players I know there are bigger things in life but this is their life. Someone like Jamal lives for the game. He had just returned from a setback, and now this happens. You feel powerless. My blood is still boiling, not because of the result  that football but because it happened to someone who enjoys this game so much.”

Kompany had highlighted Musiala importance in previous rounds and acknowledged that losing him affects the team both emotionally and tactically moving forward.

At just 22 years old, Musiala had been instrumental in Bayern Club World Cup campaign. His creativity, dribbling, and goal-scoring ability made him a vital component in Kompany system.
