Beyond the Trophy: The Records Psg Could Break at the Club World Cup
They’ve already claimed four trophies, are steamrolling past opponents, and now stand on the brink of breaking historic records. The Club World Cup could be the crowning jewel of a masterpiece season.
Paris Saint-Germain is already in the semifinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and their season borders on perfection. With four trophies secured and playing dominant football, Luis Enrique’s team is not just chasing the most important title in their history—they’re also close to breaking statistical records that would make this campaign truly unforgettable.
Goals, wins, and total domination
With 164 goals in 63 official matches, PSG is just 7 goals away from breaking their all-time scoring record (171), set during the 2017/18 season under Unai Emery. They’ve been prolific in the Club World Cup, with 4-0 wins over Atlético de Madrid and Inter Miami, and a solid quarterfinal victory over Bayern Munich.
If they manage to beat Real Madrid on July 9 in New Jersey, PSG would reach their 48th win of the season, surpassing the 47 wins they recorded during the 2015/16 season under Laurent Blanc. With two matches left, they have the chance to finish the season with numbers worthy of the statistical elite of European football.
A red-hot attack and Madrid in sight
With 12 goals in five Club World Cup matches, PSG’s attack is on fire. Dembélé, with 34 goals this season, is enjoying the best form of his career, while Barcola, Zaïre-Emery, and Kolo Muani round out a sharp and well-managed attacking line under the Spanish coach.
Luis Enrique’s management has been key. After the win against Bayern, Barcola explained: “We have a coach who understands us and gives us time to rest. That helps us stay fresh for every match.” That freshness will be vital if PSG is to take down football’s eternal giant… and write the most glorious chapter in the club’s history.
