After more than a month sidelined with a muscle injury, Sergio Ramos is finally set to return for Rayados de Monterrey, just in time for their debut at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The news was confirmed by head coach Domènec Torrent, who will be leading the Mexican side in his first tournament at the helm.
“We had to be cautious with Sergio because he was coming off a serious injury. Now he's fully ready for the next match,” said the Spanish manager.
How Long Has Ramos Been Out and What Role Will He Play?
The former Real Madrid captain and 2010 World Cup winner hasn’t played an official match since April 20, missing the final stages of the Mexican Clausura tournament. Since joining Monterrey in February 2025, Ramos has only featured in eight league games and one Concacaf Champions Cup match.

“He scores goals, provides assists, and controls the pace of the match,” Torrent noted.
