Real Madrid Begins Its Preparations for the Club World Cup Clash Against Juventus With Kylian Mbappé
Real Madrid is already focused on its next challenge at the Club World Cup. After securing a spot in the Round of 16 with a convincing 3–0 win over Salzburg, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad returned to Palm Beach and resumed training on Friday at The Gardens North County District Park.
While the starters from the match against the Austrian side did recovery work in the gym and light exercises on the pitch without the ball, the substitutes went through a more intense session. It included defensive and attacking drills, followed by small-sided games and finishing practice.
One of the most anticipated updates was the presence of Kylian Mbappé, who continues to train with the group as he recovers from an acute bout of gastroenteritis. Although the French star has yet to make his debut in this edition of the tournament, there is growing optimism within the coaching staff about his potential involvement in the upcoming match against Juventus, set for Monday, July 1st at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (3:00 p.m. local time).

On the other side, Juventus is dealing with a significant loss in its defensive line. Young center-back Nicolò Savona, a key figure in Igor Tudor’s tactical setup, has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering a serious ankle injury during the match against Manchester City. The Italian club confirmed that he sustained a high-grade ligament injury in his left ankle and has already started a recovery program that will sideline him for at least a month.
Savona, just 22 years old and a product of the Bianconeri academy, had established himself this season as a regular starter in the back three system employed by Tudor, with three starts during the group stage of the tournament.
In his absence, it is expected that experienced defender Federico Gatti will step in to anchor the defense and try to contain a Real Madrid team that remains a top contender, with or without Mbappé.
Both clubs are now gearing up for a thrilling matchup under the Florida sun, with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line and world-class talent ready to take the stage.
