Julián Álvarez: “We Need Almost Everything to Go Right”
Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, currently playing for Atlético de Madrid, stated this Saturday that the team needs “almost everything to go right” in Monday crucial match against Botafogo, part of the FIFA Club World Cup group stage.

Atlético under pressure to win
Diego Simeone side must defeat the Brazilian club by at least three goals to keep their hopes of advancing alive. Additionally, they rely on Paris Saint-Germain beating the Seattle Sounders, considered the weakest team in the group.
“We need to play a great match, have almost everything go our way, take our chances and score the goals we need,” said Álvarez in statements released by the club.
Unhappy with the results
Álvarez also expressed disappointment that, despite playing “a great game” in their 3-1 win over the Seattle Sounders, the outcome of the Botafogo vs PSG match (a 1-0 win for the Brazilians) left Atlético in a tough spot.
“We need to score several goals. That’s already on our minds it depends on us,” emphasized the former River Plate star.
“We know it won’t be easy, but we believe in ourselves. The team is preparing to be in top form,” he added, while also sending a message to the fans: “We want them to trust us and support us. We’re going to give it our all to qualify.”
Atlético looking to get back on track
Julián Álvarez has emerged as one of the most outspoken voices within the Atlético squad. His dissatisfaction with the team’s results so far underscores their determination to turn things around. The match against Botafogo represents a final opportunity to stay alive in the competition and push forward toward the next round.
