Jude Bellingham Reveals His Favorite U.S. Sports Stars Ahead of Real Madrid Trip to the Club World Cup
Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid standout and star of the England national team, has revealed his favorite American sports idols in a recent interview with FIFA official website, naming figures like Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, and Patrick Mahomes.

The 21 year old midfielder, who just celebrated winning both LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League with the Spanish giants, is preparing to represent England in international matches in June before traveling to the United States to compete in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. England will face Andorra in a World Cup 2026 qualifier, followed by a friendly match against Senegal.
A Fan of American Talent
During the interview, Bellingham was asked about his favorite American athletes. The young footballer didn’t hesitate to highlight several North American sports icons.
“Obviously, Michael Jordan. He’s a reference point for anyone who plays sports. If I could meet an athlete, he’s always my first choice. But there are many more,” he said.
Despite admitting he doesn’t follow the NBA closely, Bellingham praised several basketball and American football stars.
“I don’t watch a lot of NBA, but I like some of their personalities and players. I like Anthony Edwards. Obviously, there’s also LeBron James. And in the NFL, you’ve got so many quarterbacks: Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen. I’m not too picky!”
“They all have different qualities you can enjoy whether it’s their personality, playing style, or charisma. They all seem to have that superstar element that draws you in,” he added.
Aiming to Make History at Real Madrid
Bellingham not only admires great athletes he wants to become one of them. His ambition drives him to leave a lasting legacy at Real Madrid, which will begin its journey in the revamped Club World Cup on June 18 against Al-Hilal, champions of the Saudi Pro League.
“This Club World Cup is a new opportunity for us. It’s a brand-new competition, and we want to be the first to win it. At this club, there are very few things that haven’t already been achieved, and this is a chance to make history,” he said.
“I want to have the most successful career possible and be part of the best teams. I want to win. I want to be a global reference and unforgettable.”
With titles like LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Intercontinental Cup already under his belt, Bellingham now sets his sights on becoming champion in the first edition of the new Club World Cup format, reaffirming his desire to become a true legend.
