Can Jude Bellingham Be the Real Madrid Star That Xabi Alonso Needs?
At just 22 years old, Jude Bellingham is emerging as one of the key figures in Real Madrid new project under Xabi Alonso. The English midfielder, who shone brightly during the Ancelotti era, now faces the challenge of adapting to a new tactical system in which his role will be different, but just as important.

A New Style at the Santiago Bernabéu
Bellingham acknowledged in recent statements that the new coach has brought with him a renewed vision of the game:
“With this new style, we want to play between the lines, to have control of the game, but Xabi insists that we not lose the ability to attack the goal when we have the opportunity to accelerate the game. We want to take advantage of those moments and maintain control throughout the match.”
During Carlo Ancelotti tenure, Bellingham was frequently used as a second striker, allowing him to move freely into the opponent's box. This attacking role translated into an impressive record of 38 goals in two seasons with Real Madrid.
Bellingham willing to adapt to Alonso plan
Now, with Alonso on the bench, Bellingham will assume a more defensive position, aligned with the positional and controlled style of play that characterized Bayer Leverkusen Bundesliga championship. The player himself has shown his complete willingness to adapt to whatever the Spanish coach needs:
"I'm willing to play wherever he needs me. I feel comfortable in various roles, but the most important thing is the balance of the team and that we all understand what he wants to convey to us."
Admiration for his new coach
The young Briton made no secret of his respect and admiration for Xabi Alonso, whom he has followed since his time as a footballer:
“Xabi is a very nice person; he has a great way of communicating with the players. What attracts me most about him is his energy towards football. He's very active, always moving and involved, which allows him to see and feel the game better. When you see a coach like that, his energy infects you.”
A new challenge: winning the Club World Cup
Real Madrid is currently competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, and Bellingham is part of the group looking to successfully kick off the Alonso era. The next challenge will be against Juventus, in a key Round of 16 match this Tuesday.
With talent, leadership, and attitude, Bellingham is determined to become the benchmark for the new Real Madrid. Every minute on the pitch will be a new opportunity to prove he is the star that Xabi Alonso and the Real Madrid fans need.
