2025 Club World Cup: América and LAFC Battle for the Final Spot… and Millions of Dollars
The final available spot for the 2025 Club World Cup will be decided this Saturday in a high-stakes clash between Club América and Los Angeles FC (LAFC). Both teams will face off at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles for the remaining ticket to the most prestigious club tournament, after Club León was excluded due to eligibility criteria.

Beyond the sporting prestige, the match carries enormous financial appeal. Participating in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup which will feature 32 teams and be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13 represents a golden opportunity: FIFA will distribute a total of $1 billion in prize money among all participants, as confirmed by the organization.
The Tournament Million-Dollar Prize Pool
Out of the total prize money, $525 million will be allocated as participation fees. The distribution per confederation will be as follows:
- Europe: between $12.81 million and $38.19 million per club
- South America: $15.21 million
- CONCACAF (North America, Central America, and the Caribbean): $9.55 million
- Asia: $9.55 million
- Africa: $9.55 million
- Oceania: $3.58 million
In addition, FIFA has earmarked another $475 million as performance-based bonuses, awarded according to the clubs results during the tournament:
- Group stage: $2 million per win, $1 million per draw
- Round of 16: $7.5 million
- Quarterfinals: $13.1 million
- Semifinals: $21 million
- Runner-up: $30 million
- Champion: $40 million
The club that emerges as champion could take home up to $125 million in total.
