(VIDEO) Trent Alexander-Arnold Surprises by Speaking Spanish During his Presentation with Real Madrid
The arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid has caused a stir, not only because of his status as a star signing, but also due to the emotional and surprising speech he delivered during his official presentation. The English right-back, who ended a brilliant spell at Liverpool, amazed everyone by speaking fluent Spanish in front of the press, club officials, and a global audience.
"Thanks to president Florentino Pérez and to Real Madrid for this opportunity. It’s a dream come true," said the player, who not only expressed excitement for the new challenge but also made his ambitions clear: “I want to be a champion, grow, and enjoy alongside the best in the world.” His visibly emotional family accompanied him at the event held in the club’s basketball pavilion, where legends such as Roberto Carlos, Butragueño, Solari, and Arbeloa were also present.

During his presentation, Trent took the opportunity to share his first impressions as a new member of the Spanish giants. “I’m really excited to show my football to Madridistas. I know playing here comes with great responsibility,” he stated. Among his remarks, he included a few lines in Spanish that surprised and delighted the audience, including a passionate: “¡Hala Madrid!”
In the press conference that followed, the defender made no attempt to hide his excitement. “It’s a very emotional day that I’ve been waiting for a long time. I’m very proud to be here—it’s a dream,” he said. He also shared what drove him to join the club: “I grew up watching Real Madrid win three Champions Leagues in a row. I’ve always admired their players and history.”

The Englishman also explained the change on his jersey, which will now feature just “Trent” instead of his usual “Alexander-Arnold.” “When I travel around Europe, people call me all sorts of names. So I decided to make it simple and use my first name,” he revealed.
Speaking about his exit from Liverpool, the full-back was candid: “It was an incredible chapter, but everything has an end. I felt it was time to start something new.” He also expressed gratitude for the support from his former club: “They wished me the best and told me I’ll always be welcome.”
Lastly, Trent admitted he spoke with his friend Jude Bellingham about the club, although he emphasized that Real Madrid “needs no introduction.” He also showed respect for Dani Carvajal, with whom he will compete for a starting spot, and praised manager Xabi Alonso: “He was an idol of mine. He influenced the way I play, and now working with him is a dream come true.”
With a smile and undimmed ambition, Alexander-Arnold has already begun training with his new teammates and is ready to embark on what promises to be an unforgettable journey.
