(PHOTOS) Messi receives a very special visit from a former player for whom he did not hide his affection
Just when we think we’ve seen it all in the world of football, something new comes along to surprise us. Did you ever imagine that Lionel Messi the sport biggest star could actually be a fan of someone else? Well, yes. Just as millions of fans around the world dream of getting a photo or autograph from the Argentine legend, Messi himself is an admirer of another football great: the iconic Italian, Roberto Baggio.

A Special Visit in Miami
The former Italian international visited the locker room of Inter Miami, as the team prepares for its upcoming match against Porto. Messi wasn’t expecting the visit, but as soon as he recognized Baggio, he walked over without hesitation to greet him and chat.
But Baggio came bearing a gift: a signed jersey he wore during the 1994 World Cup. Messi was clearly moved by the gesture and proudly shared the moment on his social media.

A Bond That Began Years Ago
This wasn’t their first encounter. Several years ago, when Messi was still playing under Pep Guardiola at FC Barcelona, Baggio visited the team dressing room. At the time, Guardiola was explaining his vision and players to the Italian legend when a young Messi shyly approached eager to get close to one of his childhood idols.
That day marked the beginning of a friendship based on mutual admiration one that remains strong to this day.
Baggio, a VIP Fan at the Club World Cup
Roberto Baggio, the only Italian player to score in three different World Cups, is one of the special guests at this year FIFA Club World Cup. Alongside his family, he has attended several matches. He was even spotted cheering for Boca Juniors a club he and his daughter are passionate fans of.
Roberto Baggio and Lionel Messi are living proof that admiration and respect among football legends truly exist and transcend generations.
