When and Where Will the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 Be Played?
The second edition of the FIFA Arab Cup will take place in Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2025, bringing together the top national teams from the Arab world.
Host Cities and Tournament Venues
Six stadiums — all of which were used during the FIFA World Cup 2022™ — will host the competition.
- Al Bayt Stadium: Will host the opening match, just as it did in Qatar 2022.
- Lusail Stadium: Will be the venue for the tournament’s grand final.
Participating Teams
A total of 16 national teams from the AFC and CAF will compete in the final phase.
Automatic Qualification (9 teams):
- Qatar (host)
- Algeria (defending champion)
- The seven highest-ranked nations at the time of the draw
Qualifying for the 7 Remaining Spots
All qualifying matches were played as single-leg fixtures in Qatar during November.
Playoff Results:
- Mauritania 0–2 Kuwait
- Syria 2–0 South Sudan
- Palestine 0–0 Libya (Palestine wins 4–3 on penalties)
- Oman 0–0 Somalia (Oman wins 4–1 on penalties)
- Bahrain 1–0 Djibouti
- Sudan 2–1 Lebanon
- Comoros 4–4 Yemen (Comoros wins 4–2 on penalties)
Qualified Teams (16/16):
Qatar, Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Format of the Arab Cup 2025
The 16 teams were drawn into four groups of four during the official draw held on May 25 in Doha.
Groups:
- Group A: Qatar, Tunisia, Syria/South Sudan, Palestine/Libya
- Group B: Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman/Somalia, Yemen/Comoros
- Group C: Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait/Mauritania
- Group D: Algeria, Iraq, Bahrain/Djibouti, Lebanon/Sudan
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout phase, which includes quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final.
The final will be played on December 18 at Lusail Stadium.
