HEBC 0-5 Borussia Dortmund: Inacio nets twice in easy DFB-Pokal win

Samuele Inacio netted twice as Borussia Dortmund eased to a comfortable 5-0 victory over HEBC to progress in the DFB-Pokal.

Tuesday's clash took place at Volksparkstadion, but fifth-tier HEBC did not come close to pulling off a giant-killing.

Dortmund were frustrated for the opening half-hour, but made their breakthrough when Janek Wrede turned into his own net.

Daniel Svensson then volleyed in from Julian Ryerson's centre, before Inacio grabbed the first of his goals.

The teenager was sent off during BVB's 2-0 win over Hamburg on Saturday, but he enjoyed a much better outing here as he then doubled his tally with a fine finish in first-half stoppage time. 

Fabio Silva then added further gloss to Dortmund's win just before the hour, as Niko Kovac's team cruised into the next round.

Utter domination from Dortmund

Dortmund were expected to win, and to do so in style. And they lived up to the billing.

HEBC would have had hope, but they managed just two shots, with only one of those on target, while they registered only 0.05 expected goals (xG).

Dortmund, meanwhile, had a whopping 36 attempts, and 12 of those hit the target. They had 101 touches in HEBC's box, while the minnows managed just three going the other way.

BVB's 2.87 xG and 77.1% possession were yet more signs of their dominance, while they also won 17 corners, with HEBC simply unable to live with their opponents' quality.

There will be bigger tests to come for Dortmund, but Inacio did, at least, bounce back from what was a difficult outing at the weekend.

He had six attempts, which is a tally bettered only by Silva, who tried his luck seven times.
