Raphinha Keeps Alive the Tradition of Ronaldinho, Neymar, and Piqué in Barça Official Team Photo
FC Barcelona unveiled this Friday the official team photo for the 2024–2025 season. In the image, taken at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the players pose alongside head coach Hansi Flick and club president Joan Laporta, with the three national titles won this season on display. However, one particular detail drew special attention: Raphinha, one of the team’s captains, recreated a now-iconic gesture in the club’s recent history.

A Tradition with Brazilian Roots
The Brazilian winger appears striking a pose reminiscent of the one made famous by Ronaldinho during his early years at the club a tradition later followed by Neymar and Gerard Piqué in various official sessions. Raphinha is now repeating the gesture for the second consecutive season, solidifying a quirky custom that has become a symbol of the laid-back and joyful spirit of the Barça locker room.
The pose originated with Ronaldinho in the 2000 and was later adopted by Neymar during his time at the club. Years afterward, Gerard Piqué brought back the gesture in several official photos. Now, Raphinha continues that symbolic lineage, representing a generational connection within the club and reinforcing his leadership in the dressing room.
Who Appears in the Official Photo?
The official photograph features all the members of the first team, including academy players and new signings. Arranged in three rows, they posed as follows:
• Top row (left to right): Kochen, Sergi Domínguez, Gerard Martín, Koundé, Iñaki Peña, Szczesny, Iñigo Martínez, Christensen, Marc Bernal and Astralaga.
• Middle row: Casadó, Pau Víctor, Olmo, Lewandowski, Eric García, Balde, Cubarsí and Héctor Fort.
• Bottom row (seated): Pablo Torre, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Pedri, Araujo, Ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Gavi and Fermín.
Renewed Optimism and Ambitious Goals
Barça enters this new campaign following a brilliant domestic season in which they captured all the Spanish titles. With a revamped project under Flick leadership and a squad that blends youth and experience, the club is now gearing up to take on its greatest challenge: reclaiming its place at the top of European football.
