Deportivo Garcilaso secured their spot in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana after defeating ADT Tarma, another Peruvian team, in penalties.

ADT Tarma came determined and relentlessly bombarded Garcilaso's penalty area with eight shots on goal in the 90 minutes, not allowing any shots on goal from the hosts but failing to find the net, leading to a penalty shootout.

In penalties, Tarma's efficiency dropped, losing and getting knocked out by Garcilaso 4-3 in penalties, who will advance to the group stage of the 2024 Conmebol Copa Sudamericana.
