Boca Juniors Extends Luis Advíncula's Contract
Peruvian international Luis Advíncula renewed his contract with Boca Juniors until December 2026 on Monday.
"Luis Advíncula signed the extension of his contract with Boca until December 2026, alongside Raúl Cascini from the Football Council. Your happiness is ours, Pichón!" the Buenos Aires club posted on their X account.
The right-back, born in El Carmen, Chincha Province, joined the blue-and-yellow team in 2021 from Rayo Vallecano, after three seasons where he played 107 official matches and scored three goals.
After arriving in the Río de la Plata, the former player of Peru's Sporting Cristal and Argentina's Newell's Old Boys had an outstanding performance and was nominated for the award for the best right-back in the entire continent by the Uruguayan newspaper El País.
With Boca, “the Rayo” won a Copa Argentina in 2021 and a Copa de la Liga, a Primera División title, and a Supercopa Argentina in 2022.
In 2023, the Peruvian defender became Boca's top scorer in the Copa Libertadores.
His four goals were crucial on Boca's path to the final, which they eventually lost 2-1 to Fluminense, although he scored his team's goal.
The defender has played 18 games, mostly as a starter, and has provided 5 assists.
Additionally, Advíncula is the third player with the most appearances (117) and the tenth in assists (6) in the history of the Peruvian national team, with whom he reached the final of the Copa America in 2019, where they lost to Brazil.
