South America’s top club competition is back with supreme primetime action on beIN SPORTS
What’s Happening?
After a summer where South America’s top teams showed their class in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, the Copa Libertadores is back on beIN SPORTS. And things are starting to get serious.
The 66th edition of the competition has now reached the Round of 16 stage, which sees two-legged knockout games starting on Tuesday August 12th, all taking place in North American primetime. Every minute of every match is live and exclusive across the beIN SPORTS network.
Who are the favorites?
Recent history shows that it is hard to look past the Brazilian sides as favorites, with clubs from that country having won the past six Copa Libertadores competitions. Reigning champions, Botafogo, are in the Round of 16 to defend their title and have been joined by five other Brazilian sides including Flamengo and Palmeiras.
However, River Plate will once again be leading the charge for Argentina, a nation that may be World Cup winners but whose clubs are second best in the Copa Libertadores of late.
Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Peru are also a represented in a continent-spanning tournament that is the ultimate test of skill and stamina in soccer.
