Find Out Which City Will Host The 2025 Copa Libertadores Final
CONMEBOL has officially announced the host city for the 2025 Copa Libertadores final, ending weeks of speculation over the venue for South America’s most prestigious club match. The Peruvian capital will once again stage the decisive clash, repeating as host after delivering one of the competition’s most memorable finals in recent history.
Which Stadium Will Host The 2025 Libertadores Final?
The South American governing body confirmed that the Estadio Monumental in Lima, home to Universitario de Deportes, will be the venue for the final on November 29, 2025. With a capacity of 80,000, it is the largest stadium in Peru and previously hosted the 2019 final, when Flamengo defeated River Plate in dramatic fashion, scoring twice in the dying minutes.
Why Was The Monumental Chosen Over Other Stadiums?
While it was confirmed back in April that Lima would be the host city, the specific stadium remained undecided. The other candidate was the Estadio Nacional, but CONMEBOL opted for the Monumental due to its larger capacity and proven experience in staging major events.

Which Matches Will Be Played This Week In The Libertadores?
The announcement comes just before the Round of 16 kicks off. Key fixtures include:
- Tuesday: Fortaleza (BRA) vs Vélez (ARG), Atlético Nacional (COL) vs São Paulo (BRA), Peñarol (URU) vs Racing (ARG)
- Wednesday: Cerro Porteño (PAR) vs Estudiantes (ARG), Flamengo (BRA) vs Internacional (BRA)
- Thursday: Botafogo (BRA) vs LDU Quito (ECU), Libertad (PAR) vs River Plate (ARG), Universitario (PER) vs Palmeiras (BRA)
What Happened In The Last Final Played In Lima?
In 2019, the Monumental witnessed a legendary finale as Flamengo came from behind in the closing moments with two goals from Gabriel Barbosa “Gabigol”, securing their second title in the competition and etching one of the most unforgettable chapters in Libertadores history.
