Copa Libertadores: 16 Teams Confirmed for Knockout Stage

CONMEBOL has confirmed the 16 clubs advancing to the Round of 16 of the 2025 Copa Libertadores. The teams are divided into two pots:

• Pot 1 (Group Winners): Palmeiras, São Paulo, Racing, River Plate, Estudiantes, Vélez Sarsfield, Internacional, and LDU Quito.
• Pot 2 (Group Runners-up): Botafogo, Peñarol, Flamengo, Atlético Nacional, Libertad, Fortaleza, Universitario, and Cerro Porteño.

The draw will determine the knockout matchups, with teams from Pot 2 hosting the first legs. The first legs will be played between August 12–14, and the return legs between August 19–21.

Copa Sudamericana: Key Matchups Await

At the same time, the draw for the 2025 Copa Sudamericana Round of 16 is also being held. In this stage, the eight group winners will face the eight playoff winners—teams that finished second in their groups or dropped down from the Copa Libertadores.

Notable participants include Independiente, Lanús, Universidad Católica, and Palestino.

Like in the Libertadores, the first legs will take place from August 12–14, with the second legs scheduled for August 19–21.
