West Ham registered their first win since being relegated to the Championship as Jarrod Bowen and Divine Mukasa impressed during a 4-2 victory over Wolves.

After failing to win their first three Championship matches, West Ham got themselves off the mark in a six-goal thriller with Wolves.
Mukasa netted twice at London Stadium, including a stunning opener, while Bowen notched a goal and an assist for West Ham, whose win moved them up to 11th.
Wolves had started the brighter at London Stadium, with Raul Jimenez hitting the woodwork, but they were made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal in the 33rd minute.
After collecting the ball from 25 yards out, Mukasa unleashed a right-footed strike past Jose Sa that crashed against the underside of the crossbar on its way in.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side were then awarded a penalty three minutes before half-time when Andre fouled Joel Piroe, with Bowen stepping up to coolly dispatch the spot-kick.
But Wolves ensured they would go into the break only one goal behind when Marshall Munetsi raced past Konstantinos Mavropanos and finished into the bottom-right corner.
The Hammers restored their two-goal cushion eight minutes after the restart through Mukasa, who saw his shot deflect off Nasser Djiga and loop over a helpless Sa.
West Ham pulled further clear just after the hour when Mavropanos capitalised on the chaos in the Wolves box from a corner by thundering the ball into the roof of the net.
Mavropanos was then on target at the wrong end five minutes later after turning Jackson Tchatchoua's cross into his own net, but West Ham were able to fend off a comeback.
Bowen showcases Premier League quality
Following their relegation from the Premier League in 2025-26, many predicted Bowen to leave West Ham after he registered 20 top-flight goal contributions (nine goals, 11 assists) last season, but he has stayed committed to West Ham and will be key to their promotion hopes.
Bowen already has one goal and two assists for the Hammers this term, while he also registered team-high totals for touches in the opposition box (seven), passes in the final third (13), duels won (five) and chances created (three).
And Bowen once again haunted Wolves. Against no side in his league career has he been directly involved in more goals than he has against Wolves (11 – seven goals, three assists) as he dealt Cesar Peixoto's side their first league defeat of the season.
In an entertaining affair, West Ham were deserving of their win. The Hammers finished with an expected goals (xG) total of 1.77 from their 12 attempts compared to Wolves' tally of 0.87 from their 17 shots.
West Ham have also been busy on the pitch on deadline day. They have seen two moves in their defence, with Nottingham Forest's Morato arriving on a season-long loan, while Jean-Clair Todibo has joined Lens for the rest of the campaign.
