Manor Solomon's stoppage-time winner saw Leeds United pip Burnley to the Championship title after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle.

With both sides' return to the Premier League already confirmed, the race to be crowned champions of the second tier went right down to the wire.

The two teams were level on 97 points with Leeds boasting a superior goal difference.

Despite Wilfried Gnonto cancelling out Sam Byram's first-half own-goal, it looked like Daniel Farke's side would have to settle for second place.

Josh Brownhill's brace helped Burnley come from behind to beat Millwall, who saw Josh Coburn hit the post from point-blank range in the first half, 3-1 at Turf Moor. It was a defeat that ensured the Lions would not make it to the play-offs.

However, there was to be a late twist at Home Park - where Plymouth's relegation was confirmed - as Solomon embarked on a jinking run into the box, before finding the bottom corner to snatch first place and send the travelling supporters into ecstasy.

Elsewhere, Coventry City secured their second play-off appearance in three seasons after a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Jack Rudoni scored in each half for the hosts at the Coventry Building Society Arena, where the visitors' hopes of a top-six finish ended.

Frank Lampard's side will be joined by Bristol City, who survived a scare to ensure a share of the spoils with relegation-threatened Preston North End.

Emil Rijs and Milutin Osmajic put the Lilywhites 2-0 to the good in the 60th minute at Ashton Gate. 

However, Ross McCrorie scored twice in the space of five minutes to give the Robins the point they needed to edge out Blackburn Rovers, who were held to a 1-1 draw by third-place Sheffield United.

At the other end of the table, Luton Town were relegated to League One via goal difference following a 5-3 defeat by West Brom.

Tom Fellows and Callum Styles both scored braces for the Baggies, who condemned the Hatters to their second demotion in as many seasons.

Luton's relegation was confirmed as Hull City leapfrogged them to survive after a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth.

Although Matt Crooks' first-half effort was cancelled out by Christian Saydee, the Tigers withstood a nervous finish to secure their second-tier status by the skin of their teeth.

Meanwhile, Derby County and Stoke City are safe for another season at least, after a goalless draw at Pride Park kept them both away from danger.

Not only that, but it secured their 29th Championship win of the season, the club's most in a single league campaign.

Meanwhile, despite having to settle for second place, Burnley finished their season on a high.

The Clarets extended their unbeaten streak to 33 league games - matching Reading in 2005-06 - with only Huddersfield Town embarking on a longer run of EFL matches without losing outside the top tier (43 between January and November 2011).
