The biggest stars to watch in the 2026-27 Bundesliga

  • Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz headline a group of stars that also features prolific scorers Deniz Undav and Serhou Guirassy.

The 2026-27 Bundesliga begins on August 28 and will once again feature several of European soccer’s biggest names. Proven scorers, elite creators and attackers coming off major seasons give the league plenty of star power, with five players standing out because of their 2025-26 production and the roles they will carry into the new campaign.

Harry Kane remains the scoring benchmark

Harry Kane continues to set the standard for Bundesliga goalscorers. The Bayern Munich striker finished 2025-26 with 36 goals in 31 league appearances and claimed the Torjägerkanone for a third consecutive season. He also became the first player in Bundesliga history to finish as top scorer in each of his first three campaigns in Germany.

Kane will start the new season with 98 Bundesliga goals in 94 appearances, leaving him only two short of 100. His finishing remains his defining quality, but his ability to drop deeper, combine with teammates and create chances makes him much more than a penalty-box striker.

Michael Olise, the league’s premier creator

Michael Olise was voted the Bundesliga Player of the Season for 2025-26 after producing 15 goals and a league-high 19 assists. His 34 direct goal involvements underline how influential he became in Bayern’s title-winning attack.

The France international then carried that form into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he led the tournament with seven assists. At 24, Olise enters the new Bundesliga season as one of Bayern’s central attacking pieces and one of the league’s most dangerous one-on-one creators.

Luis Díaz adds another elite threat

Luis Díaz enjoyed an outstanding first Bundesliga season after arriving at Bayern Munich. The Colombian recorded 15 goals and 14 assists, giving him 29 direct goal involvements as Bayern successfully defended the title.

His pace, direct dribbling and ability to attack the box from the left give Bayern a different type of threat alongside Kane and Olise. The combination of all three was one of the defining features of the champions’ record-breaking attack in 2025-26.

Deniz Undav and Serhou Guirassy lead the challengers

Away from Munich, Deniz Undav enters the season after finishing second in the 2025-26 Bundesliga scoring chart. The VfB Stuttgart striker scored 19 goals in 29 league appearances and remains the attacking reference for a side that finished fourth.

Serhou Guirassy, meanwhile, scored 17 league goals for Borussia Dortmund and finished third among Bundesliga scorers. Although his total was lower than in previous seasons, he remains the focal point of Niko Kovač’s attack and one of Germany’s most established finishers.

Kane, Olise and Díaz provide much of the star power for the defending champions, while Undav and Guirassy represent two of the biggest attacking threats among their rivals. All five enter 2026-27 with recent numbers that make them essential players to follow from Matchday 1.
