The Bayern prodigy who dreams of playing for Real Madrid
At just 17, one of Bayern Munich’s brightest prospects is already speaking openly about his ultimate dream — and it lies outside Germany.
A breakout talent turning heads
At only 17 years old, Lennart Karl has emerged as one of the most exciting young revelations at Bayern Munich this season. Under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, the attacking midfielder has not only earned minutes, but genuine responsibility on the pitch.
His rapid development has sparked growing attention across Germany, where he is already viewed as part of the club’s immediate future.
The moment he mentioned Real Madrid
During a visit to an official Bayern Munich supporters’ group, Karl spoke candidly about his ambitions. While stressing what it means to represent the Bavarian giants, he did not shy away from naming Real Madrid as his ultimate destination.
“Bayern is a very, very big club. It’s a dream to play here. But one day I definitely want to join Real Madrid. That’s the club of my dreams.”
The teenager later balanced his words with praise for the club that has shaped his career so far.
Performances that match the talk
Beyond the headlines, Karl’s on-field output has backed up the excitement. He has recorded six goals and two assists in 21 appearances across all competitions this season, numbers that explain Kompany’s trust in such a young player.
His early impact has drawn inevitable comparisons to Lamine Yamal, another prodigy who broke through at a remarkably young age. In Germany, many already see Karl as a key figure in Bayern’s near-term plans.
An early link to the Spanish giants
Lennart Karl’s name is not entirely new in Madrid circles. According to German journalist Sebastian Leisgang, the youngster had a trial with Real Madrid when he was just 10 years old.
He progressed through regional camps in Germany before being invited to train and play at the Santiago Bernabéu, where he reportedly left a strong impression. Ultimately, the move did not materialize due to a family decision, as it was felt the environment was not right at the time.
A World Cup dream as well
Club ambitions aside, Karl has also set his sights on the Germany national team. The teenager admitted that playing in a World Cup at such a young age would be something truly special.
“I have to perform well first, and then we’ll see. Going to a World Cup at 17 would be very special.”
