Despite getting back to winning ways against Elversberg in the Bundesliga, Vincent Kompany insists there is still a lot for Bayern Munich to improve on.

Bayern Munich bounced back from a disappointing draw to beat Elversberg, but Vincent Kompany was not fully impressed by their performance.
Having been held to a 0-0 draw by Schalke last time out in the league, Bayern responded with a 2-1 victory over previously perfect Elversberg.
Lennart Karl had given Bayern the lead in the first half, but after Maurice Krattenmacher had equalised just after the hour, Harry Kane scored to secure all three points.
But the reigning champions certainly rode their luck at times, with Cole Campbell seeing a goal disallowed for offside in the first half, while Noel Futkeu spurned a late chance to snatch a point.
Bayern, who also hit the crossbar through Michael Olise, were deserving of their win, racking up 28 shots worth 2.8 expected goals (xG), though only six of those attempts were on target.
And while Kompany was pleased to overcome a difficult test, he wanted to see more urgency from his team.
"It all counts – not just the three points, although that was obviously the priority for us," Kompany said.
"Our tempo wasn't good. We weren't there in the duels like we normally are. With the Schalke and Bodo/Glimt games, you still sensed that dominance and saw good pressing and counter-pressing.
"Elversberg did well in all areas. They were very brave on the ball. The role of the goalkeeper was maybe also a bit different than with other teams.
"Obviously, we had our moments and could've scored more goals, but on the whole, we played against a tough opponent and are happy with the three points."
Kane's winner was his 99th Bundesliga goal – in his 97th appearance – but his first of the 2026-27 league campaign.
He ensured Bayern stretched their unbeaten run away from home in the top-flight to 28 games (W21 D7) – only once have they had a longer such run, going 33 matches without defeat on the road between 2012 and 2014.
Kompany had to make a quadruple change in the second half to get over the line, and Kane believes their strength in depth will be the key to their success this term.
"That's football. Sometimes you need to wait a bit longer than you wanted," Kane said.
"But it was nice to score a goal and contribute to the win. They were three important points. It's not easy to play here.
"We talk a lot about our squad. At the moment, we're all fit and healthy, which has a big impact on the team. We've got lots of matches in a short space of time. With our style of play and our intensity, it's important to have fresh players.
"It doesn't matter who starts or comes off the bench – everyone needs to be ready to give 110%. When the guys came on, we had more energy, were more direct in our one-v-ones and, in the end, had many more opportunities."
