Adeyemi misses Dortmund training as Barcelona move nears completion
Karim Adeyemi is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, and the winger missed Borussia Dortmund's pre-season training session on Sunday.
Borussia Dortmund confirmed Karim Adeyemi was absent from pre-season training "for talks with other clubs", with the winger expected to join Barcelona.
The Germany international is set to link up with compatriot Hansi Flick by completing a move to Barca, the two-time reigning LaLiga champions.
Young midfielder Kjell Watjen, meanwhile, is also expected to depart Signal Iduna Park, with the 20-year-old linked with Midtjylland.
And both players missed training on Sunday, with Dortmund confirming they are in talks with other teams.
"Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Watjen are absent from today's performance diagnostics," Dortmund posted on social media.
"Both players have been excused for talks with other clubs."
Adeyemi has made 146 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, scoring 36 goals.
The 24-year-old completed the most dribbles for the Yellow and Black across all competitions last season (52). Only Lamine Yamal (225) and Fermin Lopez (65) recorded a higher tally for Barca in 2025-26.
Meanwhile, Julian Ryerson (18) was the only Dortmund player to register more assists than Adeyemi (eight).
