Wirtz's Future Is Decided – Where Will He Play?
The future of Florian Wirtz seems to be clearer than ever. Despite strong interest from European powerhouses like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, the talented attacking midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen is said to have already made up his mind about where he will continue his career next season.

At just 21 years old, Wirtz played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s historic domestic double last season, helping the team lift both the Bundesliga and the German Cup. Under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, he racked up 18 goals and 19 assists in 49 matches across all competitions. However, it seems the club has become too small for his growing ambitions, and the young German is now aiming for a new challenge.
According to German outlet Bild, Wirtz has decided to remain in the Bundesliga and is expected to sign with Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign. This decision would rule out potential moves to the Premier League or LaLiga, where Manchester City and Real Madrid have been monitoring him for several months.
Reports suggest that Xabi Alonso has already been informed of Wirtz’s decision. The Spanish coach has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid as a possible successor to Carlo Ancelotti, although nothing has been confirmed yet on that front.
Signing Wirtz won’t be an easy or cheap operation. The German international is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2027 and reportedly has a release clause of €125 million. Only a select few clubs in Europe can afford such a figure, and Bayern would need to meet that amount to finalize the transfer.
As of now, no official agreement has been reached, and the player has yet to formally notify Leverkusen of his intention to leave. Nevertheless, all signs point to a summer move, with Bayern Munich emerging as the frontrunner for his signature.
The upcoming transfer window is shaping up to be one of the most eventful in recent memory, and Florian Wirtz will undoubtedly be one of the most sought-after names.
