The Curse Is Over! Harry Kane Wins His First Title as Bayern Clinch the Bundesliga
After years of scoring goals without silverware, Harry Kane can finally raise his arms in triumph. Bayern Munich have been crowned 2024/25 Bundesliga champions following Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw against Freiburg, which leaves them mathematically unable to catch the Bavarians.
The title was secured just one day after Bayern missed the chance to seal it at home, drawing 3-3 with RB Leipzig after conceding a stoppage-time equalizer. But on Sunday, Leverkusen’s slip-up made it official: Harry Kane’s curse is broken.
Harry Kane Lifts His First Trophy
At 31 years old, Kane finally ends a long trophy drought, having lost multiple finals with Tottenham and England. With 24 goals this season, he has been Bayern’s main attacking weapon and a key figure in their title-winning campaign.
Leverkusen needed a win to stay alive in the title race, but couldn’t get the job done. An own goal by Piero Hincapié and a strike from Ritsu Doan put Freiburg ahead. While Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah leveled the score, the draw meant the end of their championship hopes.
