Is the Harry Kane Curse Real? Bayern Let the Bundesliga Slip Away in the Final Minute
It looked like it was finally Harry Kane’s day. Everything was set for him to break his trophy drought and lift the first title of his career. But once again, it wasn’t meant to be. In a dramatic ending, RB Leipzig scored a 90th-minute equalizer through Yussuf Poulsen, and Bayern Munich saw the Bundesliga slip through their fingers — at least for now.
What could have been a celebration at the Allianz Arena turned into yet another heartbreaking chapter for Kane, who once again found himself agonizingly close to glory.
A Nightmare That Won’t End
Since making his professional debut, Harry Kane has been synonymous with goals and consistency — but also with frustration. A runner-up in nearly every competition with Tottenham, the English striker moved to Munich in search of immediate titles. And yet, fate once again stood in the way just when he seemed about to break the curse.
With Bayern leading 3-2 and the clock ticking down, it looked like the Bundesliga title was wrapped up. But a defensive lapse allowed Poulsen to score the dramatic equalizer and crush the party.
A Match That Had It All
Goals from Kane, Jamal Musiala, and Leroy Sané had Bayern on course for the title. But Leipzig never gave up. Benjamin Šeško pulled one back, Xavi Simons tied it up briefly, and Poulsen delivered the final blow just as Bayern thought it was over.
With this result, Bayern Munich still lead the league but couldn’t seal the title on Saturday. Everything will be decided in the final rounds — and the ghost of Kane’s “curse” looms once again.
