Change of Course! Thomas Tuchel Confirms His Departure from Bayern Munich
When it seemed that the German coach would continue at the Bavarian club, Tuchel himself announced that an agreement for his continuity was not reached.
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel revealed this Friday that no agreement has been reached for his continuity at the Bavarian club, making tomorrow's match against Hoffenheim his last on the bench for the historic German team.
"This is my last press conference at Sabener Strasse. The February agreement stands. We talked again, but we couldn't reach a common stance to continue," Tuchel said.
In February, Bayern and Tuchel agreed to terminate the contract, which was set to expire in 2025, at the end of this season.
However, after Bayern failed to secure their top candidates for succession - Xabi Alonso, Sebastian Hoeness, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick - the possibility of Tuchel's continuation was reconsidered, supported by part of the squad, led by captains Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller.
Bayern will end tomorrow their first season without titles in a decade after 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles.
