"Wirtz Is Ready to Play for Real Madrid"
A German football legend like Michael Ballack has stated that Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz has the quality to play for Real Madrid.
If Xabi Alonso is the architect of Bayer Leverkusen's historic season from the sidelines, undoubtedly Florian Wirtz is the one doing it on the field.
Much has been said (and will be said) about the future of the talented German, and while Bayer Leverkusen has already confirmed that both the coach and the number 10 will continue next season, the latest words from German football legend Michael Ballack only add to the rumors.
"Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid," Ballack said in an interview with Sport Bild. "In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it with Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB there: when you play with even better players, you become even better," added the former captain of the German national team.
His signing is more than difficult for his suitors. The German has a contract with Bayer until 2027 and a price tag that would be around $163 million. For now, and barring a radical change, Wirtz will remain in the Bundesliga next season.
