Will Raphinha Play El Clásico? Barcelona Cross Their Fingers
FC Barcelona are breathing a bit easier, but uncertainty remains. Raphinha Dias continues his recovery from a right hamstring injury sustained against Oviedo, and while the expected three-week recovery period ends this Friday, the Brazilian has yet to rejoin full training.
What’s Raphinha’s Current Status?
The winger underwent a follow-up MRI on Thursday, and the results were encouraging. The tests confirmed solid progress in his recovery, meaning there’s still a chance he could make it in time for El Clásico on October 26 against Real Madrid.
However, both the medical staff and coaching team are taking a cautious approach. While he could technically be fit enough to feature against Olympiacos in Tuesday’s Champions League group-stage clash, the plan is not to rush his return.
Hansi Flick’s Plan
Hansi Flick and his staff are aiming to have Raphinha fully ready for the Clásico, though his role would likely be that of an impact substitute. The intention is to include him in the matchday squad and, depending on how he feels, give him minutes in the second half.
The top priority for the Barça coaching staff is to avoid any setback, especially with a player whose explosiveness and acceleration are essential to his game. For now, optimism remains — but Barcelona are crossing their fingers that Raphinha can recover in time for one of the biggest games of the season.
