Victor Osimhen Named as the Ideal Signing for Manchester United
Patrice Evra believes Victor Osimhen is the ideal striker for Manchester United. The former Red Devils player thinks the club needs an elite goalscorer and points to the Nigerian as his top candidate.
Patrice Evra Points to Victor Osimhen as Manchester United’s Solution
Manchester United received a strong recommendation from one of its former stars. Patrice Evra believes Victor Osimhen is the striker the Red Devils need to strengthen their attack and face a season in which expectations will once again be extremely high.
The former French defender was asked by GOAL about the positions Michael Carrick’s side should strengthen, pointing to the attack. Although United already have Benjamin Sesko as their attacking reference, Evra believes they need another forward capable of consistently scoring goals and competing for a starting spot.
The Nigerian striker remains a Galatasaray player, where he has maintained the impressive goalscoring form he showed during his time in Italy. For Evra, that profile fits the English club’s current needs perfectly.
Osimhen’s Numbers Explain Why Evra Wants Him
Osimhen has built a career defined by his ability to find the back of the net, which is precisely what Manchester United are looking for to strengthen their attack.
During his four seasons with Napoli, the striker scored 76 goals, while also winning the Serie A title. His performances established him as one of the most important attacking players in European soccer and kept his name among the most sought-after strikers on the market.
Likewise, since joining Galatasaray in Turkey, Osimhen has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances, numbers that support the argument that his arrival could represent a significant boost for any team looking for greater firepower in the box.
However, the striker is under contract with Galatasaray until 2029, meaning any attempt to lure him away from Istanbul would require a major financial investment. Evra’s recommendation, for now, does not mean that negotiations between the clubs are underway.
Manchester United Still Have Several Positions to Strengthen
Although Osimhen sits at the top of Evra’s wish list, the Frenchman believes Manchester United have other needs that should not be overlooked.
In midfield, the former defender trusts Andrey Santos as an option capable of contributing following Casemiro’s departure. He also highlighted the attacking talent already available, including Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu.
However, in defense, he believes United could look for reinforcements both at center-back and in the full-back positions. He even praised the work of Harry Maguire, who, despite the criticism he has received, continues to demonstrate resilience within the squad.

Rashford Also Seeks a Second Chance at Old Trafford
While the name Victor Osimhen has emerged as a potential solution for the attack, Manchester United also have a familiar option who could become something of an internal reinforcement: Marcus Rashford.
The English forward returned to the club following loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona, amid uncertainty over his future and his relationship with supporters. Rashford, who came through United’s academy from the age of seven, has made 426 appearances and scored 138 goals for the Old Trafford side.
Evra believes supporters can still forgive him and give him another opportunity, although there is one condition: Rashford will have to prove on the pitch that he remains committed to the club.
