Millie Turner's eight-year stay with Manchester United has come to an end as she has signed for newly promoted Birmingham City.

Turner, who had signed a new deal with United through to June 2028 last year, joined the club following the reformation of the women's team in 2018.

She then helped them earn promotion to the Women's Super League in their debut season before also helping the club to their first-ever trophy – the 2024 FA Cup.

Turner was also a part of the side that qualified for the Champions League main draw for the first time at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The defender made 189 appearances at United – only Ella Toone has made more – scoring 12 goals in all competitions, though she only started six WSL games last term.

"Millie's contribution to Manchester United Women has been immense," United's director of women's football, Matt Johnson, told the club website.

"She is a great professional and a fantastic leader and has played a vital role in everything we have achieved throughout the last eight years.

"It is important that she now has the opportunity to go and enjoy more regular game time at this stage of her career. However, her impact at our club will continue long after she has departed, with her unique character having played a key role in shaping the culture of our group."

Turner has now reportedly signed a three-year contract with Birmingham, who won the WSL 2 title last season, ending their five-year absence from the top-flight.

Lisa Naalsund is also joining her in making the switch from Manchester to Birmingham, with the Norway international also said to have penned a three-year deal.

The pair, who announced their engagement last month, are believed to have joined for six-figure fees.

Naalsund joined United in January 2023 and scored eight goals in 74 appearances, having previously won back-to-back league titles with Norwegian side Braan.
