Toone and Beever-Jones return to England squad for June World Cup qualifiers
England face Spain and Ukraine in their next two World Cup qualifiers, and have been boosted by the return of two key players from injury.
Ella Toone, Aggie Beever-Jones and Lucy Bronze have all been selected by Sarina Wiegman for England's World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Ukraine next month.
Manchester United's Toone returns to the fold for the first time since November after recovering from a hip injury that kept her out for much of the second half of the season.
She featured for United in the final two games of their Women's Super League campaign, while Beever-Jones and Bronze have also recovered from their respective injury issues.
Beever-Jones, who netted four goals in 17 WSL appearances in 2025-26, missed the April camp along with London City Lionesses' Freya Godfrey, but both have been recalled.
Bronze is also included despite the 34-year-old missing Chelsea's 1-0 win over United on the final day of the WSL season and having been seen wearing a protective boot.
There is, however, no second call-up for talented teenager Erica Meg Parkinson, who was a surprise inclusion in the previous squad. Everton's Ruby Mace also misses out.
England's squad travel to Majorca for a clash with current world champions, Spain, on June 5, knowing a draw would be enough to seal their place at the Brazil tournament.
The Lionesses, who have won all four of their qualifiers so far and sit top of League A Group 3, then play Ukraine at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium four days later.
"We're approaching it as we have an opportunity to qualify for the World Cup, and we know what the scenarios are, and we want to go out there and play to win," Wiegman said.
"We know how it stands. If we win, or we tie, then we qualify after the first game, but even if we don't, there's still a chance in the Ukraine game.
"And if that isn't the case, then we have a chance to qualify in the autumn, so that's the factual situation.
