Katie McCabe will depart from Arsenal at the end of the current season when her contract expires.

The long-serving defender has spent 11 years at the club, making 305 appearances across all competitions and scoring 37 goals along the way.

McCabe was voted as Arsenal's Player of the Season on two occasions, in 2020-21 and 2022-23 and has won every trophy available to her at Arsenal.

During her time in north London – on either side of a loan spell with Glasgow City – McCabe has lifted the FA Cup, the Women's Super League, three League Cups, the Champions League and the Champions Cup.

"Over time, it became so much more than football. It became home," McCabe said in a message to fans on Arsenal's website.

"I grew up here. I built something to be proud of here. I've achieved every major trophy here, and it's shaped me as a player and as a person.

"We've been through everything together. The early days trying to find my place, the loan spell that changed a lot for me, and then coming back and finally feeling like I belonged here.

"I owe so much to Joe Montemurro. He saw something in me and gave me the belief and confidence to become the player I always believed I could be. From there, it's been an amazing journey.

"I'm incredibly proud of how far we've come together, and women's football as a whole. We represent something far greater than our individual objectives. To have been part of that journey is something I'll always cherish.

"After more than a decade, it's time for a new chapter to begin this summer for me."

McCabe was in tears after Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Everton on Wednesday, her last game at Emirates Stadium. However, she will have one last chance to play for Arsenal in their final WSL match against Liverpool on Saturday.
