Lionel Messi Attends Theater in Argentina to Forget Suárez and Busquets’ Leagues Cup Disaster
While Luis Suárez and Busquets were marked by Inter Miami’s painful fall in the Leagues Cup, Lionel Messi chose to unwind at the theater in Buenos Aires.
A different night for Messi
After arriving in Argentina for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Ecuador, Lionel Messi surprised the audience at the Lola Membrives Theater by attending the play Rocky, starring his longtime friend Nicolás Vázquez. The Albiceleste captain’s visit sparked excitement in the venue, where fans welcomed him with applause and affection.
The meeting with Nicolás Vázquez
The actor, who is going through a difficult personal time after separating from Gimena Accardi, shared backstage moments with Messi on Instagram. In a video, the footballer can be heard praising his performance: “You do it just the same.” Surprised, Vázquez responded emotionally: “He just said I do it the same.”
Photos showed the two embracing multiple times, while Messi smiled warmly at the affection from the cast and audience. The World Cup winner expressed his gratitude: “We had a great time. It was a pleasure to be present and to share this night with all of you.”

Friendship beyond the stage
Vázquez poured out his emotions in a heartfelt message: “An unforgettable night with a unique and incomparable person. A friend, an exceptional human being, and above all, the greatest player in history.” The post quickly went viral, uniting two beloved figures in Argentina.
The evening highlighted that, away from the sporting spotlight and following the blow suffered by his teammates Luis Suárez and Sergio Busquets in the Leagues Cup, Messi also finds comfort in friendship and culture.
