Lamine Yamal Father Inflammatory Statements About His Controversial Party: “They Will Die of Envy”
The celebration of Lamine Yamal 18th birthday, the rising star of FC Barcelona, has stirred controversy across social media and various media outlets. While the event had already drawn attention ahead of time, the criticism intensified once photos and details from the party began circulating online.
Lamine father speaks out: “He has the right to enjoy life”
In an interview with Europa Press, Mounir Nasraoui, father of Lamine Yamal, addressed the backlash and defended his son. He stated that the criticism was exaggerated, emphasizing that his son is still young and entitled to enjoy life like anyone else his age.
“He’s a young guy. People should understand that he just turned 18 and has the right to enjoy life a bit. He’s still just a kid like any other,” said Nasraoui.
He went on to highlight that, despite the controversy, Lamine continues to serve as a role model for many children thanks to his discipline and early rise as a professional athlete.
“We all understand he’s a professional athlete, sure but he’s also got his age, his friends, and parents who look after him. He’s being a role model for many kids. That’s all,” he added.
Over-the-top criticism?
Once a few party images and rumors surfaced online, several media outlets criticized the way in which the new Barça No. 10 celebrated his birthday. Some called it inappropriate or excessive for a professional player of his stature.
However, others argue that the reaction has been overblown and that Yamal should be allowed to enjoy his personal milestones without being overly scrutinized.
Ironically, the backlash surrounding the party has overshadowed a significant moment in the young star's careerhis official switch to the iconic No. 10 jersey at FC Barcelona, a symbolic honor within the club’s history.
Do you agree with his father’s defense? Or has the criticism been justified given the context?
