Kazuyoshi Miura continues to redefine longevity in professional football. At 59 years old, the legendary Japanese striker, affectionately known as "King Kazu," scored his first official goal in nearly four years, further cementing his status as one of the sport's most extraordinary figures.

Miura started for Fukushima United in the Emperor's Cup against Iwaki Furukawa and found the net with a superb volley that made it 5-0 in an eventual 7-0 victory. The emphatic win secured Fukushima's place in the next round of Japan's prestigious domestic cup competition.

The goal marked Miura's first in an official match since November 2022, when he scored while playing for Atlético Suzuka. Ending such a long drought at an age when most players have been retired for decades only adds to the legend surrounding the veteran forward.

Approaching his 60th birthday, Miura remains under contract with Fukushima United through June 2027, meaning he still has the opportunity to extend one of the longest careers in the history of professional football.

A true pioneer, Miura became the first Japanese player to compete in Italy's Serie A and has enjoyed an incredible career spanning more than four decades. His journey has included spells with clubs such as Dinamo Zagreb, Kyoto Sanga, Vissel Kobe, Sydney FC, and several other teams across Japan and abroad.
