John Durán Leads Fenerbahçe to the Turkish Super Cup Final
Fenerbahçe defeat Samsunspor and will face Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Cup final
Fenerbahçe became the second finalist of the Turkish Super Cup on Tuesday after defeating Samsunspor 2–0 in Adana, with goals from Kerem Akturkoglu and Colombian striker John Durán, and will now face Galatasaray.
In pursuit of their fourth Turkish Super Cup title, Fenerbahçe opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a goal by Turkish forward Kerem Akturkoglu. In the second half, in the 67th minute, Colombia’s John Durán made it 2–0 to seal the match.
In the 77th minute, Samsunspor’s Congolese player Makoumbou was sent off for serious foul play.
The Turkish Super Cup final between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will be played next Saturday in Istanbul.
