Mbappé’s story about Messi at PSG
Without directly comparing him to Neymar, Mbappé recalled a training session in Paris.
“We were doing finishing drills. Neymar and I would score six or seven out of ten. Messi would shoot nine times and score the exact same goal every time”.
He admitted the scene was hard to process:
“He looked tired, like he was just passing the ball into the net. I watched him and couldn’t understand it”.
Mbappé’s toughest moment with France
Mbappé also opened up about one of the most difficult moments of his career with the France national team.
After missing the decisive penalty against Switzerland at Euro 2021, he admitted he considered stepping away from international duty.
“I wanted to quit the national team. I realized I had put France very high in my priorities, but when I missed, people started insulting me”, he said.
