If any football team from Egypt should be taking the football world by storm, it’s Al Ahly or Zamalek, two historical giants of both country and continent. Instead, it’s a third team from Egypt, Pyramids FC, that is making some serious waves in 2025 as Africa’s undisputed best club … for now.

An incredible year for the Egyptian team began with a first ever CAF Champions League title, after Pyramids FC defeated Orlando Pirates and then Mamelodi Sundowns in the two-legged semis and finals, respectively.

This unexpected but impressive win saw Pyramids FC qualify for the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, where the team has already stormed through the preliminary rounds defeating Auckland City and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli to reach the final phase in Qatar in December.

Yet another milestone could be achieved by Pyramids FC with the final of the 2025 CAF Super Cup, where the Egyptians are on home soil in Cairo and taking on RS Berkane. RS Berkane are continuing to fly the flag for Morocco’s current dominance in Africa, having won the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup for the third time this decade.

Both teams are also in action in October in the qualifying rounds of the next edition of the CAF Champions League, a tournament that will be live and exclusive on beIN SPORTS on its return in November.
