The latest update of the FIFA Men’s World Ranking for July 2025 has brought some notable shifts, especially after the conclusion of major tournaments like the UEFA Nations League. While the top spot remains unchanged, the race at the top has tightened considerably, with Spain and France inching closer to the throne.
Spain and France Close the Gap
Argentina holds on to the No. 1 spot with 1885.36 points, a position it has maintained since April 2023. However, a slight dip this month has brought the competition closer. Spain, bolstered by its run to the Nations League final, gained 12.45 points, climbing to second place with 1867.09. France, a semifinalist in the same tournament, now sits third with 1862.03.

Americas: A Mixed Bag
Beyond Argentina and Brazil, Mexico remains the top-ranked team in the region at 13th, followed by Colombia (14), USA (15), and Uruguay (16). Further down the list are Ecuador (25), Canada (28), Panama (30), and Costa Rica (40)—the biggest mover this month, climbing 14 spots.
On the other end, the biggest drops came from Congo, Haiti, Jamaica, and Maldives, all falling seven places.
