Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Lifts His First Trophy With Portugal U-16 and Follows in His Father’s Footsteps
The son of a football legend celebrates his second international title in youth categories.
A new champion in the Ronaldo family
The legacy of Cristiano Ronaldo continues with a new generation on the rise. His eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., celebrated on Tuesday after winning the Federations Cup with the Portugal U-16 national team, securing his second trophy in youth football and reinforcing the belief that his development is moving in the right direction.
The Portuguese side were crowned champions in Antalya, Turkey, after a 2-1 win in the final against England, thanks to a brace from Rafael Cabral, the Braga academy standout who stole the spotlight. Although Cristiano Jr., 15, only played the closing minutes, his presence continues to attract major attention each time he takes the field with the national colors.
The young forward had already found the net in Portugal’s previous match against Wales, scoring his first goal for the U-16s and helping push the team toward the championship. The Portuguese federation highlighted the milestone on social media, celebrating the “lineage” that CR7’s first-born represents.

Following his father's history of success
This latest title further strengthens the promising path of the talented striker. It is the second international trophy he has lifted with Portugal in less than a year. Back in May, he won the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Croatia with the U-15 squad, scoring a decisive brace in the final against the host nation in a 3-2 victory.
Currently, Cristiano Jr. plays in the youth system of Al-Nassr, the same club where his father continues to shine in the Saudi Pro League. Before that, the youngster trained in the academies of two European giants: Manchester United and Juventus, clubs where Cristiano Ronaldo left an unforgettable mark as a professional.
While the football world closely watches every step of the rising star, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains actively involved in his development, continuing to build his own legacy in Saudi Arabia.
The Ronaldo name remains firmly established at the top of the football world. With a legendary father who has conquered everything and a son already lifting trophies in Portugal’s youth ranks, the future may hold a new chapter in the country’s football history.
