Cristiano Ronaldo and His Curse at Al-Nassr: Another Lost Final and No Official Titles
Cristiano Ronaldo lost another final with Al-Nassr and remains without official titles in Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese player has now suffered three consecutive defeats.
Cristiano Ronaldo and the final that left him without glory
Cristiano Ronaldo once again came close to winning an official title with Al-Nassr. In the final of the 2025 Saudi Arabian Super Cup, played in Hong Kong, the Portuguese scored a goal in regular time and converted in the penalty shootout, but his team ended up losing 5-3 to Al Ahli after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.
Three lost finals and zero official trophies
The defeat not only hits the team hard, but also deepens Cristiano's drought in Saudi football. Since his arrival in 2023, the Portuguese star has played in three official finals with Al Nassr and has come away empty-handed in all of them: the 2023-24 King's Cup, the 2024 Super Cup, and now the 2025 edition. The only title he has won is the Arab Club Cup, but FIFA does not recognize it as an official trophy.
Ronaldo has gone four years without lifting an official trophy since winning the 2021 Coppa Italia with Juventus. The Portuguese star's frustration in Saudi Arabia is growing, and the big question is whether he will be able to break the curse before time catches up with him.
