Bartel joins Juventus from Chelsea in permanent switch
After failing to make her mark at Chelsea, Julia Bartel has decided to embark on a new chapter in her career with Serie A side Juventus.
Julia Bartel's time at Chelsea has come to an end after the Women's Super League side announced on Saturday that she had joined Juventus on a permanent transfer.
Bartel joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2024 but failed to make an impact under Sonia Bompastor, making just two appearances in the Women's Champions League.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Liverpool, featuring five times in the WSL, though all of those outings came from the substitutes bench.
She returned to Spain with Atletico Madrid last campaign and made 27 appearances in Liga F, scoring five goals as well as providing one assist to help the team finish fifth.
Bartel's arrival helps Juventus replace outgoing midfielder Lia Walti, who completed a move to WSL side Brighton earlier this month.
Juventus finished third in Serie A last season and were knocked out of the Women's Champions League knockout stage play-offs by Wolfsburg.
