Antonio Conte Denies Negotiations With Manchester United and Rejects Claims About Financial Demands
Antonio Conte denies advanced negotiations with Manchester United and says he will take time before returning to coaching after leaving Napoli
Antonio Conte denied on Friday that he is in advanced negotiations with Manchester United or any other club, amid reports linking him with the English side, whose current manager, Michael Carrick, is under pressure after seven official matches without a win.
"My name has been linked to numerous clubs, but there are currently no negotiations at an advanced stage," the Italian coach said in a statement aimed at clarifying his situation following reports published in Italian and foreign media.
Conte, who has just ended his spell in charge of Napoli, said he will take the necessary time before returning to the dugout.
"I will take the time I need to consider how and when to return to coaching," he said.
He Denies Financial Demands and Concerns About His Personality
The Italian also denied reports about supposed financial demands and the reservations attributed to him because of his personality.
"These reports are unfounded, as there is currently no concrete basis for such assessments," he said
"Any Assumption Is Mere Speculation"
Conte added that if a concrete opportunity arises, that will be the moment to negotiate with the interested club and study the terms of a possible agreement.
"Until then, any assumption about my demands and my professional future is nothing more than speculation and cannot be treated as fact," he concluded. EFE
