Alexander-Arnold Reacts to the Death of Diogo Jota
The football world remains in shock following the tragic death of Diogo Jota, and several of those closest to him are now expressing their heartbreak publicly. Among the most emotional tributes came from someone who shared not only the locker room with him for years, but also a deep personal bond.
An Emotional Farewell from a Former Teammate
Trent Alexander-Arnold, now a Real Madrid player, bid farewell to the Portuguese forward with a heartfelt message shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account:
“It’s so hard to find the right words when your head and heart can’t accept that someone you love so much has passed. Diogo, your family was your world. They were everything,” wrote the English right-back.
He also paid tribute to André Silva, Jota’s brother, who tragically died alongside him in the same crash:
“And to André too. Brothers and best friends. When it hurts a little less, I want to remember Diogo with a big smile. So many laughs and happy moments. He was a great teammate and a true friend. Forever number 20. Rest in peace, Diogo.”
What Happened?
The former Liverpool player passed away alongside his brother during the early hours of Thursday, in a car accident that took place in Zamora, Spain. The two were traveling in a Lamborghini, which veered off the road under still-unclear circumstances. The devastating news has not only shaken fans of the Premier League club, but also the global football community.
Like many other former teammates, Alexander-Arnold has joined the worldwide mourning of a player who made a lasting impression both on and off the pitch.
